Industrial PainterThe Industrial Painter will paint sheet metal and/or heavy steel frames or similar metal surfaces with a spray gun inside an oversized ventilated spray booth.Essential FunctionsKnowledge of paints, thinners, cleaning agents, and other materials utilized in the cleaning, painting, and finishing of parts related equipmentFollows safety practices associated with the use of painting equipment, tools and work practices utilized to perform the primary dutiesKnows methods of preparing different surfaces for painting, including bare surfaces as well as previously painted surfacesPerforms maintenance on equipment as required for primary dutiesOperates equipment associated with the performance of primary duties such as air compressors, high pressure air gun, sanders, painting equipment, and hand tools with minimal supervision or technical directionUnderstands and follows oral and written directionsPrepares reports of work performed as well logging in all daily work performed using a computer or tabletEstablishes and maintains an effective relationship with othersMixes, blends, and prepares paint and other coating systems for primary dutiesDemonstrates commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programsComplies with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program.Knowledge and AbilitiesMethods, procedures, equipment and tools of the trades as they relate to assigned area.Methods of preparing a variety of surfaces for painting and finish work.Communicate effectively with others.Maintain routine records.Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.Physical AbilitiesSeeing well enough to mix and match paint colors.Climbing ladders, balancing, bending, pushing, pulling, standing for extended periods, walking, reaching overhead and above the shoulders, squatting, kneeling and twisting.Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.Full dexterity of hands and fingers to operate painting equipment and tools.Pay Range$18.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on experience and spray test resultsWeekly payShift1st shift; Monday to Thursday; 4:45 AM to 3:30 PMEnvironmentClimate controlledLow decibel levelsWell litOnsite gymEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
